News from Joey

Inspired by Richard Wilson’s famous ‘20:50’ installation back in the 80’s, Joey will be taking over the Laurie Grove Bath toilets, infecting them with a substance well known to most of us as kids. She will be using an industrial amount of red jelly to fill the bath and give us an altogether new experience of this familiar desert. Eating it is out of the question.

‘I am interested in how the use of certain everyday materials can become unfamiliar or otherworldly and transform a space – blurring the boundary between the environment and the art object. I have longed for a more interactive experience in my art, and want the presence of the work and the person entering into the space to be connected somehow’. – Joey Holder
